Gooood afternoon!
Its a great Monday to eat lasagna.
Anyways here's a thought:
This is from a talk by Elder Neal A. Maxwell:
Each of us might well ask, “In what ways am I shrinking or holding back?”
Meek introspection may yield some bold insights! For example, we can tell
much by what we have already willingly discarded along the pathway of
discipleship. It is the only pathway where littering is permissible, even
encouraged. In the early stages, the debris left behind includes the
grosser sins of commission. Later debris differs; things begin to be
discarded which have caused the misuse or underuse of our time and talent.
Ah, consecration. The most difficult law of the gospel to follow. Heck, the
law of consecration in its fullness was taken from the Earth! We as members
still live it, though. We promise to give our time and talents to the
Church of Jesus Christ. Consecrating ourselves also means we rid ourselves
of both sins of commission and sins of omission. Consecration is
repentance, really. Litter all over the path!
Pretty dope week! We had mission tour from Elder and Sister Schmidt. Elder
Schmidt is currently serving as a general authority seventy. We talked a
lot about "the faith to reap" which is basically the faith to be diligent.
I've been thinking about what I can do to become more faithful in this way.
Theres lots of things.
In other news, we had zone pday today. We played some ultimate frisbee and
some pickleball. Now I'm waiting in the doctor's office for some reason. I
think everything is okay but he wont tell me whats going on haha!
Okie dokie now to talk a bit about the area. We don't really have a lot of
progressing friends, but we do have a lot of recent converts!
To talk about just a few:
Randy: Randy just moved back to New York :(. He's a pretty funny guy. He
went to church in NY yesterday though!!!
Juan A: Absolute dawg. He unfortunately works a lot but he also came to
church last week! He's give or taken our age and like a lot of the same
stuff as me. We gonna be homies for sure.
The other Juan: not *technically* a recent convert because we only baptised
him because his records got lost. Very cool guy. He was supposed to give a
talk on Sunday but he kinda disappeared yesterday probably had to work.
Reynaldo: In his learning arc right now. He wants to know everything about
the Book of Mormon. There's a lot of things that were never explained to
him, and nownhe wants to know. He has a strong testimony of the truth of
the Book of Mormon but doesn't know much about it. He's also very chill.
Hard worker.
Rafael: One of the oldest men I've ever taught. He's a veteran of the Cuban
civil war and has a STRONG testimony of Jesus Christ's resurrection. He
really likes how we teach stuff in the church.
Roberto: He could use your prayers right now. He needs a bit more support
from us but he's not answering the door or calls. It's been kinda sad :(
Armando: Also a hard worker haha. He is preparing to recive the priesthood,
and understand the Book of Mormon a little bit better.
Edgard: MIA in his country. Will return soon (with all his family, who
aren't baptised 😏)
