Double Feature Pt. 1

Hey y'all, I forgot to send this last Monday and so I schedule sent it
today. Happy future! You (hopefully) get two emails from me today haha!
Hope you are doing well. I'm well... I'd call it "getting along" to be
honest. I'm excited to see how the other email is. I've been working some
behavior changes this past week and so things are kinda on the up and up.
Today (Tuesday the 11th) was an amazing day from a missionary perspective!
We worked hard and got a lot of work done. Yesterday (Monday the 10th) was
zone pday. We got to eat pulled pork sandwiches together as a zone. But
anyway scripture time!
How does this scripture touch your fleshy soul table?
This is a passage from Alma Chapter 7:
11 And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations
of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he
will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.
12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death
which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that
his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may
know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their
infirmities.
13 Now the Spirit knoweth all things; nevertheless the Son of God suffereth
according to the flesh that he might take upon him the sins of his people,
that he might blot out their transgressions according to the power of his
deliverance; and now behold, this is the testimony which is in me.
14 Now I say unto you that ye must repent, and be born again; for the
Spirit saith if ye are not born again ye cannot inherit the kingdom of
heaven; therefore come and be baptized unto repentance, that ye may be
washed from your sins, that ye may have faith on the Lamb of God, who
taketh away the sins of the world, who is mighty to save and to cleanse
from all unrighteousness.
Cool scripture on a lot of stuff, here are my thoughts:
Atonement. The Atonement isn't just for our sins but also every single pain
and weakness we've ever had. When we pair ourselves up with the atonement,
we get to become joint-heirs with Christ (romans 8) and all of our
weaknesses that we offer will become strengths for us.
Baptism. This is one of my favorite invitations for baptism in the Book of
Mormon. The spirit is express. Be baptised. Have faith in the Lamb of God.
Very cool stuff.
Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is how we recive these promised blessings. I
suppose that's why its sometimes called the "holy spirit of promise" haha.
Anyway very cool the other stuff that happened this week!
We had zone conference this week which was very cool! We talked extensively
on the importance of the sacrement. Sometimes we take it for granted how
amazing of an opportunity we have every week to remember Jesus Christ in
the same way that we remember our own last names. Very personal, very cool.
We also had interviews with President Schmutz. I decided during my
interview that I was gonna shape up. If I'm gonna be out here, I might as
well try, right? I definitely haven't been trying hard enough so I'm trying
to change that now. Unfortunately, future generations will get to know
nothing about my mission because I've barely written anything in my
journal. Very cool.
Uhh what else happened this week?
