LETTER 009 โ MONDAY, 2 DECEMBER 2024 ยท week 24
Fast Week
What's up guys?
Hope your thanksgiving was amazing and you arent buying too many things on
this lovely cyber Monday.
Scripture time!
In my personal study right now, I'm in the firt part of the book of Mosiah.
This part of the Book of Mormon is the discourse of Kind Benjamin, where he
exorts his people to repent and also shares with them the conditions of
salvation: (Chapter 4)
8 And this is the means whereby salvation cometh. And there is none other
salvation save this which hath been spoken of; neither are there any
conditions whereby man can be saved except the conditions which I have told
you.
9 Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both
in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both
in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things
which the Lord can comprehend.
10 And again, believe that ye must repent of your sins and forsake them,
and humble yourselves before God; and ask in sincerity of heart that he
would forgive you; and now, if you believe all these things see that ye do
them.
Wow! Look at that right there! Its the gispel of Jesus Christ again! I'm
gonna be so honest with you, I didnt know that this process was called the
Gospel of Jesus Christ before my mission. In case you don't know, the
Gospel of Jesus Christ are the things we need to do to attain salvation.
Nothing more and nothing less.
The first step is to have faith, IE: Belive in God.
The second step is to repent.
The third step is the initiative ordinance of baptism. Baptism is an
outward expression of your repentance. When you are baptized, you become a
covenant child of Jesus Christ.
The fourth step is baptism by fire and the Holy Ghost. This ordinance is
just as important as baptism by water. Joseph Smith said that a baptism by
water without the gift of the holy ghost avails nothing. Both are required,
and are individual ordinances.
The fifth Is to endure to the end. When we endure to the end we stay as
true to our promises as we can. When we promise that, the Lord promises us
blessings, such as peace, joy, the holy ghost, and most importantly,
salvation. Because of the sacrifice, we can all recive this gift. Not much
is required to be honest. We are so blessed to have such an amazing way to
be redeemed! Pretty cool!
Well anyway the stuff that happened this week!
Monday was Elder Donnelly's birthday, and so that night we had a suprise
birthday party for him in our apartment!
The rest of the week was pretty chill. Lots and lots of teaching and
running around and trying to get people to church. One day (probably
Wednsday? I don't remember) we were out doing contacts because we're
supposed to do phone calls in public, and basically one of the English
Elder's friends saw us, and decided to call them up to have a lesson at
that park! Wow! That was pretty neat.
On Thanksgiving we did a service project in the morning, we helped put
together dinners to hand out to people. After that, we did a turkey bowl
with the other missionaries. We didnt eat dinner till like 9:00 because we
had lessons haha! Hispanics don't really do Thanksgiving.
On Saturday morning we helped somebody move that we met the night before,
so that was neat. We dont really do a whole lot of service here.
On Sunday we got 8 friends to church which was awesome! Wow, I gotta tell
you, the feeling you get when you get people to church is unmatched. It's
pretty awesome! (Probably besides baptizing people but I dunno)
Well thats all for this week and so...
Photo time!
Suprising Elder Donnelly for his Birthday
Our new friend Elvin, who came to church yesterday. He's an interesting
fella haha
Me and Elder Donnelly doing contacts out in public like we should be doing

I... didnt take a lot of photos this week. Stay tuned for a video of my
district trying to do a Mexican dance. Hoo, boy...
